Seeding & Sodding Your Lawn Getting a yard up to par in Cincinnati can be difficult. Maintaining it can be even more challenging. Whether you've neglected your lawn, or recently purchased property and the former owner neglected it, or maybe this summer’s drought has taken a toll on it, you've made up your mind that it cannot be done by yourself. The amount of help and the steps to accomplishing it depend on how much damage there is and how much time, effort and money you want to invest. Here at Cook’n Peppers Lawnscapes, LLC there are three stages to re-vitalizing a yard:
As you might expect, those 3 levels go from easy, to down right difficult. Which method do you need? Repair works for lawns that are in pretty good shape. There may be a few bare spots that need a topsoil dressing and seed. Otherwise, a regular fertilization and weed control program should make a world of difference. Renovation is for lawns that there's just no hope of bringing back without years of care, and then it'll still be iffy. Or, if you want to change grass types. This may have been caused by the summer’s drought. Out with the old, and in with the new. Restoration requires killing the existing lawn, but doesn't require tilling, grading or adding additional topsoil. Re-establishment means replacing and fixing everything, just as it sounds. All the old grass is completely removed; the soil's surface is graded and tilled, new topsoil is added and amended with other things like compost, maybe lime or other key elements determined with a soil test to acquire a healthy yard. If you are interested in soil tests, please request so at the time of our yard analysis. |
